About Banaras Hindu University (BHU)

Sudhir Kumar Jain

Sudhir Kumar Jain has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of Banaras Hindu University (BHU). Sudhir K. Jain (born 1959) is a civil engineer and professor at the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar. He has been designated vice-chancellor of the Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He’s now serving his third term as the director of the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar. He has completed serious innovative work in seismic design codes, dynamics of buildings, and post-earthquake studies. Besides these, Prof. Jain has effectively taken education in instructing, research activities, and advancement in earthquake engineering focused on developing countries.

He’s a chosen member of the Indian National Academy of Engineering. Likewise, the U.S. Public Academy of Engineering (2021) selected him for leadership in earthquake engineering in developing countries. He was president of the International Association of Earthquake Engineering (IAEE) from 2014 to 2018. He has again served on the Engineering and Computer Science jury for the Infosys Prize from 2019.

Education:

He earned a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Roorkee ( presently known as Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee) in 1979, and Masters and Doctoral certificates from the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena in 1980 and 1983 independently.

Admission and Hostel Fees for BHU

BHU Admission and Hostel Fees One of Varanasi’s main colleges is Banaras Hindu College (BHU). The college has gained immense notoriety for its genuine base and the diversity of its alumni class and personalities. The college offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programmes in various subject areas. The college has 140 divisions, 14 study resources, and 3 associations.

About BHU

The Banaras Hindu College verification procedure is completed using various position tests and grade-based judgements. Independent completion of the UET and PET situation tests is required for BHU admission and hostel fees for undergraduate and graduate programmes. For those wishing to list the BHU courses, understudies must pass a public choice exam. The value of the students in these arrangement tests completes the assurance. BHU UG Admission

Until 2020, admissions to BHU UG courses were based on the Undergraduate Entrance Test (UET) conducted by the university. From the academic year 2021 on, access to UG programs presented by BHU will be based on the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET), which will replace the UET. CUCET will be a common entrance for admission to UG programs offered by every one of the central universities in the country.

BHU UG Admission Process

BHU admission and hostel fees are in accordance with focal government regulations. BHU, as a focal college, provides reservations and confirmations.

  • Schedule Caste (SC): 15 seats are reserved for students in the SC category.

  • Scheduled Tribe (ST): 7.5 of the seats reserved for students in the ST category.

  • Other Backward Classes (OBC) 27 of the total input is reserved for students from Other Backward Classes (OBC), excluding those from the downy layers.

  • Economically Weaker Section (EWS) The University has reserved ten seats for the EWS category, following the directive of the Ministry of Education.

  • For persons with disabilities (PWD), five seats are reserved horizontally for students from the PWD category.

BHU Admission and Hostel fees Each course’s duration is determined by the program. The committee for admission to PG courses directs PET for postgraduate course entry.
