List of Famous Aligarh Muslim University - AMU Notable Alumni
The Amu Notable Alumni, or students of Aligarh Muslim University, are dispersed all over the world. Precisely as Sir Syed had predicted at the time of the MAO College’s foundation stone laying. “The little plant will grow into a massive tree with branches that reach worldwide.”
AMU was and still is a unique experience. It is not just an excellent seat of upper learning but also due to its residential character, where one shares 5 to 10 years of life with people of an identical age bracket. Sharing everything—living, eating, and studying together, establishes bonds of a closely-knit family, often animating the Algerians even later in life. As they reunite, whenever possible, they re-enact the fun of the bygone days of their youth and rekindle their shared hopes and ideals and, therefore, the famous ‘Aligarh Spirit.’ All fraternities at AMU call themselves “Aligs” or “Aligarians,” whether or not they are students, teachers, or other staff working at the University.
